2010 – Iki-shi, Nagasaki-ken, Japan, Earth

Mine! Mine! Mine!I was driving from the Board of Education to the supermarket when I spotted at least 200 seagulls hanging out by the ferry port.  I’d never seen so many seagulls in one place–especially one with so little garbage.  They were all calmly waiting around, as if frozen by the cold.  That is until I opened my car door to try and snap a picture, at which point they all took flight.  Not that they went far–only about 100 feet to a nearby dock.  Hah, seagulls.

  1. I like how you captured them mid-flight.

I have to admit though, seagulls can be downright scary sometimes–especially if you’re trying to feed bread to other birds and the seagulls catch wind of it. Then it’s like a scene from a horror movie 😛

Canadian geese are the same too…only they will go out of their way to attack you if you should even look at them funny.

Yeah, I would never dream of going anywhere near seagulls when food was involved. But really, any scavenging birds are dangerous. I’m such a wuss.
