02-26 / “Z” is for “Zippy”
This is Habu, our friendly, neighborhood manager of the best beach on Iki: Nishikihama. He’s the go-to guy for wind surfing, snorkeling, scuba diving, jet skiing, fishing, and also Habu-isms.
Habu has a fantastic laugh, great hair (which you can’t see), and we constantly tease him about his search for a “Habuko,” to which he invariably responds “Habu has no Habuko.” (The suffix “ko” is the character for child, usually a female. It’s commonly used in female Japanese names.) He’s also a genuinely sweet guy and I wish I could see him more often, but he’s busy all the time! During the summer, because of his work at the beach, he also gets really black. It’s pretty impressive. He can have the best farmer’s tan of anyone I know.
And Habu brings us to the end of the ABC challenge! It was… easier than I thought it would be. Though I got a lot of help from my friends. 🙂
