2010 – Iki-shi, Nagasaki-ken, Japan, Earth

This is the southern half of “Devil’s Footprint,” an interesting geological happenstance that appears to be a foot.  This jives with the Iki Myth (06-08) about the awful barbarian being beaten by a Japanese prince.  Or something.  It’s said that the ogre made these footprints while he was running away.  Must’ve been a big friggin’ ogre.

Six minute exposure.  It probably could have stood to be a few more minutes, but I was feeling sleepy, for one, and it was misting, for two.  Plus I’m paranoid about mosquitoes.  It’d be interesting to try this again on a stormier day… with a solid ND filter.  (I’ve been salivating over them.)
