2010 – Iki-shi, Nagasaki-ken, Japan, Earth

They have a sweet song, too. After the hectic Iki Thanksgiving weekend, I prepared a 20 minute speech (in JAPANESE) to read at a local Rotary Club meeting.  Essentially, I discussed how thankful I am for my life on Iki.  Somehow, though, it devolved into me ranting about globalization and the importance of secondary language education for competitive economies, especially ones like Japan that are so export-driven.

They gave me free food!  And plates!  And booze!  Huzzah!
